Z96 The Mix started out small, just as any business does. Z96 wanted to start a radio station, and a great way to begin is to start out inexpensive. Thus, the internet radio station was born.
Starting out, Z96 didn’t have a lot. But that wasn’t necessary at the time. Using a simple laptop with some streaming software, the internet station started fine. But soon, its hiccups began to become more apparent. Using a pre-programmed playlist, it became more apparent to listeners that what they were listening to was going to tire quickly. Z96 needed a change.
Shortly after Thacker Broadcasting was formed, Z96 reached out. Thacker Broadcasting was able to take their laptop and, with a few tweaks, was able to provide a far more dynamic system. In the process, Thacker Broadcasting was able to add identifying tracks mentioning the station’s name, and added some jingles to reinforce the brand. Now, Z96 is preforming better than ever!

All of the clips below were captured during a time that no individuals were in the studio. All commercials were edited out for this. Imaging provided by LFM Audio and Jeffrey Hutchens.
The mildly-popular podcast started out as a complete accident, and was not expected to become a podcast that could be found on the front page of Comedy categories during the summer and fall of 2020.
Created in the winter of 2018, the podcast didn’t gain traction until a new face was given in 2020. A new ensemble of members, in addition to a new editing style, helped contribute to the podcasts’ success during a time when humor was craved.
Episodes were recorded through Discord, and edited during the ensemble’s free time, the podcast began seeing some of its best traffic since its inception.
Episodes were initially released on a weekly schedule, but have since slipped back to a monthly schedule.
